Textbook: PRECALCULUS Enhanced with Graphing Utilities, M. Sullivan and M. Sullivan III, Pearson 5TH Edition
This course covers functions and graphs, especially higher degree polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; systems of equations; solution of linear systems, matrix methods; determinants; sequences and series, induction; and the binomial theorem.
Unit I: Systems of Linear Equations: Substitution and Elimination.
Unit 2: Systems of Linear Equations: Matrices. Systems of Linear Equations: Determinants. Matrix Algebra.
Unit 3: Partial Fraction Decomposition. Systems of Nonlinear Equations.
Unit 4: Systems of Inequalities. Linear Programming.
Unit 5: Introduction. Sequences. Arithmetic Sequences.
Unit 6: Geometric Sequences; Geometric Series.
Unit 7: Mathematical Induction. The Binomial Theorem.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: Solve linear systems of equations, find the inverse of a matrix, decompose in partial fractions, understand sequences and series and prove different results using induction method.
Final Grade = 10% class performance + 15% homework + 25% Projects + 20% Midterm Exams + 30% Final Exam
